Quality
Our freeze trawler M/Tr Hermes operates year round and delivers first class white fish and prawns – mainly from the cold, clear water in the north east Atlantic Ocean. At present Hermes offers a wide spectrum of fish products frozen at sea: cod, haddock, saithe, redfish, Greenland halibut, other white fish and prawns. As well as being handled in compliance with HACCP and our own quality control system, most of our products are MSC certified.
Fishing areas
The fishing grounds where we operate are principally in the north east Atlantic Ocean (FAO Area 27). The area covers the Norwegian Sea, Barents Sea, North Sea and the fishing grounds around Svalbard. In these cold, clean sea areas we catch very high quality fish and prawns. Growth is slow because of the low sea temperature and this gives the flesh of fish and prawns the firm texture and tastiness for which catches from this area are famous.

Cod
Gadus Morhua
Cod is supplied headed and gutted (H/G) and frozen in1/2 blocks (24 kg), 1/1 blocks (50 kg) or as single fish.

- By-products: cod livers and cod roes are supplied frozen in 1/2 blocks.
- Cod fished by Hermes in the Barents Sea and North sea is MSC certified.
Haddock
Melanogrammus Aeglefinus
Haddock is supplied headed and gutted (H/G) and frozen in 1/2 blocks (23 kg).
- Other gradings/packaging options can be supplied by agreement.
- By-products: we do not currently supply any by-products of haddock.
- Haddock fished by Hermes in the Barents Sea is MSC certified.
Saithe (Coley)
Pollachius Virens
Saithe is supplied headed and gutted (H/G) and frozen in1/2 blocks (24 kg), 1/1 blocks (48 kg) or as single fish.
- Other gradings/packaging options can be supplied by agreement.
- By-products: saithe livers are supplied frozen in 1/2 blocks.
- Saithe fished by Hermes in the Barents Sea and North sea is MSC certified.
Redfish
Sebastes Mentella / Sebastes Marinus
Redfish is supplied round or J/Cut and frozen in 1/2 blocks (18 kg or 22 kg). Sebastes Mentella is delivered in the same gradings as Marinus.

- By-products: we do not currently supply any redfish by-products.
Blåkveite
Reinhardtius Hippoglossiodes
Greenland halibut is supplied J/Cut and frozen in 1/2 blocks (22 kg).
- Other gradings/packaging options can be supplied by agreement.
- By-products: Greenland halibut heads are supplied frozen in 1/2 blocks in several different gradings. Tails can also be supplied.
Other white fish
Anarhichas Minor, Brosme Brosme, Molva Molva
Other white fish such as catfish, spotted catfish, brosme (cusk), ling, pollack, round nose grenadier, blue whiting, rabbit fish, halibut and others are delivered gutted – and possibly headed – frozen in 1/2 blocks, 1/1 blocks or as single fish.
- Gradings and packaging as customary for the species.
- By-products: we do not currently supply any by-products from other white fish.
Prawns
Pandalus Borealis
Prawns are supplied as industrial prawns, frozen in 1/2 blocks (23 kg).

- By-products: At present we do not supply any prawn by-products.
- Prawns fished by Hermes are FOS and MSC certified.
